Goodbye 2017. Hello to a whole new chapter…
I haven’t written on Bellyful of Art for a long time…an embarrassingly long time. 2017 brought with it more challenges than I ever could’ve imagined, and I struggled for a while to see where or how I could find a place for blogging in the clutter of endless paperwork and complex emotions that had become my life.
However, with the new year already filling me with more enthusiasm than 2017 ever did, now seems like the right time to start again and to move my blog from an arts-focused platform to something a little more life-orientated. That’s not to say that I won’t be posting art reviews and short fiction, but perhaps the advantages of blogging, of having your own virtual space, is that you can share the chaotic, the exciting, the everyday facets of life without limiting yourself to a specific topic or genre (particularly if nobody else is reading it!). For now, I’m sticking with the name Bellyful of Art because, in my opinion, it has a particularly nice ring to it and what is life if not one lengthy, all-consuming piece of art?!
So expect rambling, long-winded accounts of a particularly enjoyable walk/holiday/meal out/trip to the pub etc., alongside the usual chatter about books, photography, film and all things art-related.
For now though – as with any activity that isn’t practised regularly – I feel it’s best to start slowly and build up momentum, so (feeling particularly chuffed that I’ve managed to write anything at all this year) I’ll end it there. See you all soon…hopefully!

Hi Leah
Glad to hear from you again. Flexibility is art isn’t it? Or should it be art is flexibility? Good luck for this next year
